George Montgomery is President of U.S. Education

U.S. Education programs, offered through Apollo College and Western Career College, prepare students for careers in a diverse range of over twenty programs in healthcare, legal, graphics and drafting through certificate, diploma and associate degree programs.  U.S. Education is a division of DeVry Inc. (NYSE: DV), a global provider of educational services.

Montgomery joined U.S. Education in 2002 as President and Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure, he led the transition of several individual small school groups through acquisition, integration and expansion into two large and successful brands, covering seven Western states; Western Career College in Northern California with eight campuses and Apollo College with 10 campuses in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Idaho, Washington and Oregon.

In September 2008, Montgomery led U.S. Education through the acquisition by DeVry Inc. The Orange County Association for Corporate Growth (OC-ACG) named this the “Deal of the Year,” awarding U.S. Education and its organization this special recognition.

Prior to U.S. Education, Montgomery served first as Vice President of Marketing and later as President and CEO of Taylor Made Golf, Inc., a leading manufacturer of golf equipment. It was under Montgomery’s leadership that Taylor Made clarified a worldwide vision and clear operating principles for product line management, pricing, distribution strategy, brand image and communication.

Montgomery served K2 CORPORATION, a leading manufacturer of winter sports equipment, from 1979 to 1992 in various positions including Product Manager, Director of Marketing, and finally as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales.

Montgomery graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Chemistry and the UCLA Anderson School of Management with his MBA in Marketing and Finance.
